"Energy consumption has been steadily increasing in Russia in recent years. And this trend will continue, which indicates a steady growth of the economy. By the end of the 2020s, our country is expected to see an average annual increase in electricity consumption at the global average level - more than 2% per year. In this regard, work continues on improving and updating the Russian energy system," he wrote in his author's article for the journal Energy Policy.
Novak noted that the plans include the unification of the energy systems of the East and Siberia, strengthening ties between the combined energy systems of Siberia and the Urals, the construction of new generation, expansion of energy supply to the regions of the Far East and large infrastructure projects.
