Nine Terrorists Were Detained in Russia
OREANDA-NEWS. The Center for Public Relations of the Federal Security Service (FSB) of the Russian Federation reported that law enforcement officers carried out a special operation in Moscow, the Tyumen Region and the Republic of Tatarstan and detained nine members of the Hizb ut-Tahrir terrorist organization banned in Russia. The two leaders are among detainees.
According to the FSB, the criminals disseminated terrorist ideology among Muslims and recruited citizens into the organization. In the houses of the detainees, law enforcement officers found and confiscated the prohibited propaganda materials of Hizb ut-Tahrir, communication facilities and electronic information carriers.
The representatives of the agency said that the terrorists worked to create “closed network structures” of the organization and solved the tasks of its financial support. They conducted “unconstitutional activities based on the doctrine of creating the so called world caliphate,” the FSB reports.
In early November, two supporters of the Islamic State (a terrorist group banned in Russia) who raised funds to finance terrorists were detained in the Republic of Dagestan. According to the FSB, they managed to collect at least 10 million roubles (about 157 thousand US dollars).
On November 20, the agency announced that its officers detained three Islamic State recruiters in the Moscow Region. The criminals were organizing the sending of recruits to Syria for participation in the hostilities on the side of the terrorists.
