OREANDA-NEWS. Participants in the contest of young performers "New Wave" laid a memorial star and a bas-relief in the center of Sochi, in the future the tradition will continue on Imeretinskaya Embankment, where it is planned to plant trees.  This was reported to reporters by the general director of the competition Alexander Rumyantsev.

 “We want to make a big New Wave alley on Imeretinskaya embankment,” said Alexander Rumyantsev. “I think it will be very beautiful and memorable. We have already acquired our New Wave house - this is the city of Sochi, we have had very children since 2002  lot".

 Avenue of Stars dedicated to the 15th anniversary of the New Wave contest opened in Sochi in 2016.  From the previous venue of the competition from Jurmala, all commemorative stars from 2002 were transferred to Navaginskaya street.

 Also in 2016, the laying of the first bronze bas-relief of the "New Wave" took place on Nessebar Street, which continues today.  The authors of the current bas-relief were the contestants: the finalists made it under the direction of the sculptor, member of the Union of Artists of Russia Vyacheslav Zvonov.
