Near the Moscow City Court 350 People were Detained, Including Several Journalists
OREANDA-NEWS. Police officers on Tuesday, February 2, detained more than 350 people near the Moscow City Court. This information was provided by the human rights portal «OVD-Info». Among the detainees are journalists: photographer Dmitry Markov and employee of the portal «Autozak.live» Maxim Kondratiev. The Moscow City Court is holding a visiting session of the Simonovsky District Court, which decides, whether to replace the Russian opposition politician Alexei Navalny with a suspended sentence in the case of the cosmetics company «Yves Rocher» with a real one.
As Navalny stressed, that this prosecution was fabricated, which was recognized by the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR). The ECHR is part of the Russian judicial system, and it's decisions are binding. And Russia, the opposition leader recalled, half recognized this verdict. Navalny was even compensated. The opposition leader stressed, that now «they put one in jail to intimidate millions».
Buses with «Rosgvardiya» arrived at the Moscow City Court before the meeting. Riot police officers searched bags and backpacks at the exit from the lobby of the metro station «Preobrazhenskaya Ploshchad», located nearby. Not far from the building, a young man was detained.
