OREANDA-NEWS. 44 servicemen of the unrecognized Republic of Nagorno-Karabakh have died in battles with the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan during the past day. The death toll was published on November 9 by the Ministry of Defense on Facebook. Thus, according to the agency, 1,221 soldiers of the Nagorno-Karabakh army have died since the beginning of the escalation of the conflict.

Earlier, the press service of the Defense Army of Nagorno-Karabakh reported that during the night battles, its military units destroyed one tank and eight unmanned aerial vehicles of Azerbaijan.

At the same time, the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry announced that the Armenian troops were forced to retreat in certain areas of the combat zone in Nagorno-Karabakh.

Armenia, in turn, reported that last night the Azerbaijani army struck with cluster munitions on the city of Stepanakert, capital of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic.
