OREANDA-NEWS  Former football player of the national team Alexander Mostovoy criticized the format of the Russian Cup. He shared his opinion on his Telegram channel "TSAR".

"Thanks to the format of the Cup, Dynamo has been eliminated, and Spartak is moving on. Which, by the way, was supposed to fly away from Zenit just like Dynamo, right?" he said. According to him, the organizers started with the format.

On May 1, Spartak beat Dynamo and reached the final of the Russian Cup Path of Regions. In the decisive match of the lower bracket, the red and white will face Rostov or Baltika.

Since the 2022/2023 season, the Russian Cup has been using a double elimination system. Thus, a club eliminated from the upper playoff bracket (RPL Paths) can continue the fight in the lower bracket (Regions Paths).
