OREANDA-NEWS The index of "diamond" cities of Russia, based on the number of jewelry purchased with this precious stone, was headed by Moscow, Murmansk and Kostroma, follows from the data of the Sokolov jewelry holding, which RIA Novosti got acquainted with.

It is clarified that the company analyzed the sales of diamond jewelry in different regions of Russia for the period from January 2022 to March 2023 and compiled a "diamond" index of cities, which shows the number of diamond jewelry purchased during this period, per 1000 residents of the city.

"Muscovites have become the leader in buying diamond jewelry. The diamond index was 9.6, that's how many products were bought for every 1,000 Muscovites. The peak of purchases in Moscow was in December... According to the average receipt for diamond products, Moscow ranked third among other regions - the average price was 18,000 rubles," the study says.

It is noted that more than half of the residents of the capital love jewelry with diamonds made of white gold, and the most popular was a ring made of yellow gold, white gold and silver.
Murmansk came in second place with an indicator of 7.4. In this city, the peak of purchases also occurred in December, and the average receipt for rings is 14,859 rubles. Kostroma closes the top three, where 7 diamond jewelry was bought for every 1,000 residents of the city. It is clarified that Kostroma residents in 2022 and 2023 spent an average of 13,035 rubles on diamond jewelry.
