OREANDA-NEWS  In the Amur region, the scandal with the infection of at least 26 children with hepatitis C is gaining strength.  As the Deputy of the Legislative Assembly of the region Sergey Trush said, he was addressed by the parents of children who were treated in the Hematology Department of the children's regional hospital.

"They were treated in Hematology of the regional hospital at different times and subsequently all were diagnosed with hepatitis C. As far as I understand, the source is still not localized and unknown. We are not talking about intentional infection, but, in my opinion, there is a silence of the situation," said Mr. Trush.

The Deputy noted that the regional Ministry of Health didn't reveal the carrier neither among medical staff, nor at station of blood transfusion.

At the session of the legislative Assembly, the parliamentarian proposed to hear a representative of the regional Ministry of Health on this issue, but the majority of deputies voted against the inclusion of the issue in the agenda. "We do not give comments on this issue, all the information in Rospotrebnadzor," told in the press center of regional Ministry of Health.

In management of Rospotrebnadzor referred to strong employment and promised to answer in three days. The Prosecutor's office of the region noted that so far "no appeals or orders, as well as media reports on this matter was not", so the Agency did not conduct an inspection.

The investigative Department of the investigative Committee of Russia in the Amur region opened a criminal case on the violation of sanitary and epidemiological rules (part 1 of article 236 of the criminal code). The UK explained that the criminal case was opened after receiving a total inspection of Rospotrebnadzor. Guilty faces restriction of freedom for a year.
