OREANDA-NEWS It is necessary to continue financing the creation of airports in Russia, which will have an effect on the development of industry and related industries, said Mikhail Mishustin, head of the Russian government.

The Prime Minister held a meeting with the chairman of the state corporation VEB.Russian Federation" by Igor Shuvalov. They discussed the results of the state corporation's work in 2024, as well as VEB's participation in the creation of social infrastructure, the development of electric transport, and the construction and reconstruction of airports.

Shuvalov said that nine airports are currently being built as part of the Project Financing Factory, in addition, there are applications for the construction of six more - in Krasnodar, Salekhard, Gorno-Altaysk, Magnitogorsk, Omsk and Arkhyz. He noted that the basic infrastructure will allow to "expand" the bottlenecks.

"Therefore, we must continue to finance it, absolutely," Mishustin stressed, speaking about the development of airport infrastructure.

"There will be a multiple multiplier for such things, for industry, for related industries," he added.

Shuvalov also spoke about the launch of new schools, the creation of which is credited by Sberbank and VEB. He noted that this is a new model - in fact, an infrastructure mortgage, when an object is created at the expense of a public resource with the involvement of funds from commercial banks, for which the regional and federal budgets are gradually calculated.

The head of VEB said that 22 new schools have already been created in the regions, and a total of 69 such projects should be launched.

"We'll see how things go from here, I'm sure it will be in great demand. Moreover, about 61,000 children will attend these new schools in the near future," Mishustin said.
