OREANDA-NEWS Smoke in the cities of the Krasnoyarsk Territory was eliminated due to the fact that planes and helicopters of the Russian Ministry of Defense were involved to extinguish natural fires. This said Deputy Minister of Defense Army General Dmitry Bulgakov on Friday, August 2. 

According to him, the actions of the forces and means of the military department allowed to reduce the speed of spread of fire in the region by more than five times. "Smoke eliminated in the cities of Krasnoyarsk, Boguchany and Kodinsk," he said. 

The military carry out tasks to extinguish natural fires ahead of schedule, the deputy minister said. 

Earlier on Friday, it became known that the aviation forces of the Russian Ministry of Defense eliminated a fire in Siberian forests over an area of more than 90 thousand hectares in a day — about 60 fires in the Krasnoyarsk Territory and the Irkutsk Region.
