OREANDA-NEWS Foreigners and stateless persons may be allowed to legalize their stay in Russia, despite the existing violations. The corresponding bill is being developed by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation.

The bill will determine the procedure and conditions for the stay of migrants who find themselves in special circumstances. Also, in relation to these citizens, administrative measures will not be applied, and the previously taken measures will be canceled.

In the transitional and final provisions of the new draft law, it is proposed to consolidate the possibility of all persons in the Russian Federation on the date of entry into force of the new federal law in violation of the established requirements in the field of migration, to settle their legal status within a certain period of time.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs noted that now there are already a number of laws that enable certain categories of foreigners and stateless persons to legalize their position in the country.
