OREANDA-NEWS Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev called on all responsible members of the international community not to support the seizure of assets of the Russian Federation.

"We call on all responsible members of the international community to speak out against blatant violations of international law, to refrain from supporting and recognizing such crimes in order to further avoid accusations of complicity," Medvedev said during the plenary session of the SPIEF.

He noted that the theft of state assets under certain conditions can be qualified as aggression. "I have already said this too, and even become a casus belli, since in response the state may have the right to individual collective self-defense. In any case, we will have to take retaliatory measures in accordance with the principle of reciprocity," Medvedev said.
