For our compatriots from the Donbass, it will be necessary to provide for a system of legal preferences that will facilitate their voluntary planned resettlement - if they express such a desire, - Medvedev said at a meeting of the interdepartmental commission of the Security Council of the Russian Federation on improving the state migration policy.

He also expressed hope for a speedy normalization of the situation and that life in the Donbass republics "will return to its normal course."

Earlier, the Chairman of the Russian Red Cross, Pavel Savchuk, said that refugees from the DPR and LPR in Russia can count on state support - the provision of temporary accommodation, catering at accommodation points, payments from the government in the amount of 10 thousand rubles, as well as medical assistance and assistance in paperwork. He specified that refugees can also receive additional humanitarian assistance.
