OREANDA-NEWS Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, was elected Chairman of the Board of Directors of Rostelecom. This is reported on the organization's website.

It is noted that Medvedev, who received a new appointment, was elected at the first meeting of the new board of Directors of PJSC Rostelecom, approved at the annual meeting of shareholders in mid-September this year. Four committees of the Board of Directors were also formed at the meeting, their personal composition and chairmen were determined.

The former head of the Russian government, in addition to his position in the Security Council, now holds the post of chairman of the United Russia party, as well as the first deputy chairman of the Military-Industrial Commission of Russia.

As TASS reminds, before Medvedev, from 2015 to 2024, the chairman of the board of directors of the company was the special representative of the President for environmental protection, ecology and transport Sergey Ivanov.
