OREANDA-NEWS  The rate of recruitment of contract soldiers into the Armed Forces in June increased to 1.4 thousand people per day, Deputy head of the Security Council Dmitry Medvedev said at a meeting on staffing the Armed Forces. Medvedev also noted that envoys are involved in the recruitment of contract workers in the regions.

"According to the Ministry of Defense, from January 1 of this year to July 4, more than 185 thousand people were accepted into the ranks of the Armed Forces," the deputy head of the Security Council added.

He specified that among them there are 109 thousand people who are in reserve, as well as "other categories of citizens who are called up to serve under a contract."
