OREANDA-NEWS The governor of the Kursk region, Alexey Smirnov, announced the mandatory evacuation of residents of the Rylsky and Khomutovsky districts.

"Based on operational information, the regional operational staff, in order to ensure security, decided on the mandatory evacuation of settlements in the Rylsky and Khomutovsky districts, which are located in a 15-kilometer zone adjacent to the border with Ukraine," the head of the region wrote in his telegram channel on Monday.

Smirnov noted that the coordination of the process of departure of local residents is entrusted to the law enforcement agencies, the local administration and the vigilantes of the Kursk Patriot center.

"Dear fellow countrymen, I ask you to understand the current situation and follow all the recommendations of the security forces and local authorities," the governor wrote.
