OREANDA-NEWS. President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said on Friday, February 18, that at the moment one can see the stupidity of a number of Western politicians. According to him, neither Russia nor Belarus needs a war.
“For the first time in decades, we found ourselves on the verge of a conflict that could engulf almost the entire continent like a funnel. Today we see in all its glory the irresponsibility and, pardon the frankness, the stupidity of a number of Western politicians, the behavior of the leaders of neighboring countries that defies logic, reasonable explanation, their downright painful desire to walk along the very edge, ”Lukashenko said after negotiations with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
At the same time, the President of Belarus added that both Belarusians and Russians do not need a war. According to him, during the meeting, the parties paid much attention to this problem.
Western politicians and media representatives continue to spread numerous speculations about possible Russian aggression against Ukraine. The Russian side has repeatedly refuted such statements, emphasizing that it has no plans to invade a neighboring country.
On February 12, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, in an interview with US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, said that the propaganda campaign launched by the United States and its allies about “Russian aggression” against Ukraine pursues provocative goals, thereby encouraging the authorities in Kiev to sabotage the Minsk agreements and harmful attempts to resolve by force "Problems of Donbass".
