OREANDA-NEWS. The forces of the self-proclaimed Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR) destroyed the position of the Ukrainian military, from which the village of Znamenka was fired.

This was announced by the representative of the People’s Militia, Yakov Osadchiy. According to the officer, the soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine fired at residential areas of Znamenka and damaged one of the houses. In response, the militiamen destroyed the position of the Ukrainians. “By adequate actions of our defenders, the enemy’s fire activity was suppressed,” Osadchy said. As a result, the Ukrainian Armed Forces suffered losses: one soldier was killed, two were wounded, and an infantry fighting vehicle was destroyed.

On July 22, at the negotiations in the Minsk format, Ukraine and the self-proclaimed republics of Donbass agreed on new measures to control the ceasefire. It will come into force at 00:01 on July 27.
