Libyan Parliament Allowed Egypt to Bring Troops to the Country
OREANDA-NEWS. The House of Representatives of Libya that sits in the city of Tobruk allowed Egyptian Armed Forces to intervene in the conflict in the country.
This is said in a statement on the website of the legislature, which is collaborating with the Libyan National Army led by Field Marshall Khalifa Haftar. “We call for concerted efforts of the two fraternal nations, Libya and Egypt, to ensure victory over the occupier and maintain our common security and stability in our country and in the region,” the message reads. Parliamentarians believe that Cairo should enter into conflict if it sees “an imminent threat to the security of the two countries.”
The House of Representatives also claimed that Libya is being intervened by Turkey, and the country’s sovereignty is being violated “with the blessing of the armed militants who control the west and the de facto authority to which they submit.”
