OREANDA-NEWS. Significant forces and assets of NATO and the United States are being deployed to the borders of Russia, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Tuesday.
“For a long time, not the first year, the West has been provoking Ukraine, and not only Ukraine, into anti-Russian actions. (...) Significant units and military equipment of NATO countries, including American and British ones, are being deployed closer to our borders. In Ukraine itself, on the contact line in Donbass more and more forces and resources are being accumulated with the support of an increasing number of Western instructors, "he said during a press conference in Moscow.
Lavrov continued: "Heavy weapons, which are directly prohibited by the Minsk agreements, are used against Donetsk and Lugansk, including drones. And we simply have no right to rule out the possibility that the Kiev regime will break into a military adventure."
The minister stressed that all this poses a direct threat to the security of the Russian Federation.
He recalled that, earlier speaking about this, Russian President Vladimir Putin stressed that Russia does not need conflicts, "but if the West cannot keep Ukraine, but rather encourages it, of course, we will take all the necessary steps to reliably ensure our security. ".
