OREANDA-NEWS  The level of relations between the United States and Russia is low, there are practically no contacts between the countries. This was stated by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov at a press conference following his participation in the events of the UN Security Council.

"The level is low, the point is low, there are practically no contacts except for discussing the conditions for the functioning of our diplomatic missions in the United States and the work of their diplomats in the Russian Federation," he said in response to a relevant question.

According to him, Russian diplomats then, including with young children, traveled by bus for more than six hours to New York to board a plane to Moscow. "It's not respectable for adults. We did not respond for a long time, because the Trump administration, when he came to the White House, asked us not to react, they were outraged by such a move by the Democrats," Lavrov continued. - And we said that if you can fix the situation, let's wait and see. They couldn't. In the summer [of 2017], we apologized - no one canceled the principle of reciprocity, otherwise the country would simply not be respected - and responded in a mirror way, asking the same number of American diplomats to leave Russia."
