OREANDA-NEWS  Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi that Moscow will work with Beijing to prevent interference by external forces and the central role of ASEAN, Xinhua news agency reports.

"Russia will work with China to support the central role of ASEAN ... and prevent interference by external forces, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said," the agency writes.

Earlier, the Russian Foreign Ministry said that Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, at a meeting with Wang Yi, expressed gratitude to China for its position on Ukraine, welcomed Beijing's initiatives to resolve the Ukrainian crisis, and the parties also discussed prospects for implementing the concept of creating a new security architecture in Eurasia.
