Lavrov revealed details of talks with North Korean Foreign Minister

OREANDA-NEWS The situation on the Korean peninsula will be the subject of discussion at a meeting with North Korean Foreign Minister Choi Song-hee. The details of the talks were revealed by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov. A live broadcast of the meeting is available on the Russian Foreign Ministry's YouTube channel.
"From the international agenda, we would like to continue our confidential dialogue on the situation on the Korean peninsula, in general in Northeast Asia," the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry said.
The minister also hopes to summarize the preliminary results of the implementation of the agreements reached at the summit of Russian President Vladimir Putin and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un at the Vostochny cosmodrome. "The relevant work is already actively underway," he added.
According to Lavrov, Moscow appreciates North Korea's support in the issue of Russia's special military operation in Ukraine, and also fruitfully evaluates cooperation with the DPRK on international platforms.
Earlier, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov expressed hope that Putin's visit to the DPRK would take place in the foreseeable future. He noted that the details and timing of the trip will be further coordinated with Pyongyang through diplomatic channels.
