OREANDA-NEWS Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and his Chinese counterpart, Wang Yi, discussed the prospects for the development of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in Astana. They noted the growing importance of the organization in international and regional affairs.

According to the website of the Russian Foreign Ministry, the two ministers exchanged views on the current state and future development of the SCO. They welcomed the efforts of the member states to maintain peace and stability in Eurasia and noted the increasing influence of the organization on world and regional affairs.
