OREANDA-NEWS  Latvian Defense Minister Andris Spruds announced the shipment of more than 500 drones to Ukraine. He wrote about this on the social network X.

According to the portal rus.lsm.lv In April and May, Latvia has already sent 135 drones to Ukraine worth about 1 million euros. In total, the country's authorities in early July promised to supply Kiev with more than 2.5 thousand drones of various types produced by Latvian enterprises, worth about 4 million euros.

Earlier, Latvian President Edgars Rinkevics called on NATO partners to lift restrictions on the use of Western weapons supplied to Ukraine against Russian military facilities.

In April, it became known that Ukraine and Latvia plan to start joint production of unmanned aerial vehicles for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
