OREANDA-NEWS Alexander Khinshtein, the acting governor of the Kursk region, argued with a resident of Sudzha, who complained about the lack of help after the invasion of Ukrainian troops. This is reported by RBC.
The man suggested that the official increase payments to apartment owners to 1 million rubles, noting that the issued housing certificates would not cover the cost of new housing, as many houses would have to be renovated. He also pointed out that the payments made in September were spent on rent and groceries. "And we are asking for the help of the state. Please give us this help," a resident of the city addressed Khinstein.
In response to his request, the official recalled the ongoing military operation and the need to rebuild the region. He also noted that there are people who may be "in an even more difficult life situation." Khinstein stressed that the certificates would fully cover the cost of lost housing and suggested creating a fund to support those in need.
Khinstein replaced Alexey Smirnov as governor of the Kursk Region on December 5 at the suggestion of the president. Prior to that, he served in the State Duma as chairman of the Committee on Information Policy, Information Technology and Communications. The Kremlin explained the rotation by the need for crisis management of the border region.
