Kazakhstan Authorities Extended Quarantine Measures
OREANDA-NEWS. The President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev ordered to extend the quarantine restrictions imposed due to coronavirus spread for another two weeks.
"In order to further consolidate the positive effect of the restrictive measures introduced in July and taking into account the possible complication of the epidemiological situation in Kazakhstan and neighboring states, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev instructed the State Commission to extend quarantine measures for two weeks,” the president’s website says.
The two-week quarantine was established on July 5 due to the deteriorating epidemiological situation in the country. According to Tokayev, the reason for this was “massive non-compliance with quarantine measures and systemic errors of the former leadership of the Ministry of Health.” Later, the restrictions were extended until August 2.
