OREANDA-NEWS The head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, said in a Telegram channel that there is no point in a peaceful settlement of the conflict with Ukraine, because now negotiations are needed only by the distressed Western countries that expect to involve Russia in a long discussion process, mistakenly believing that this can help the Kiev regime turn the tide of its own.
"Representatives of different countries are increasingly discussing the topic of negotiations on the situation in Ukraine. The most proactive of them offer a concrete plan for the peaceful settlement of the conflict. However, I fundamentally disagree with this. Negotiations are needed only by the side that is fully aware that it is in distress. Russia is objectively not one of them. By dragging our country into this long and painstaking process of discussing a peace plan, they are only trying to gain time. At the same time, it is mistakenly believed that this can help the Kiev regime to reverse the course of a special military operation," Kadyrov wrote.
According to him, at the very beginning of its Western countries slapped sanctions on Russia "foaming at the mouth, convincing their like-minded people that this would lead to the complete destruction of the Russian economy," but "they unexpectedly found themselves on the verge of economic collapse," while the Russian Federation "increased the pace of production and significantly enriched the domestic market.".
"At the same time, we have better conditions for doing small and medium-sized businesses against the background of foreign companies that have left the country. Now they want to return under various pretexts. This indicates that the sanctions did not cause the expected destructive reaction. Moreover, thanks to the efforts of unfriendly countries, we have managed to modernize the country's economy. That is why I think there is no point in negotiations. We are not satisfied with this arrangement. We are winning on all fronts - both on the battlefield and in the international political arena. It remains only to finish what has been started," Kadyrov concluded.
