OREANDA-NEWS. At least two F-16 fighters are deployed at the Azerbaijani airport in Ganja, the use of which Baku denies. This was reported by Christiaan Triebert, a reporter of The New York Times, with reference to satellite images made on October 3. The journalist posted the pictures on his Twitter page.

“There are at least two F-16s at Ganja International Airport in Azerbaijan, our analysis of an Oct. 3 Planet Labs satellite image shows,” Triebert wrote. He noted that the fighters in the picture were identified as F-16 fighters based on a comparison of the visual characteristics of several aircrafts, including MiG-21, MiG-29, Su-25, L-39, which are in service in the Azerbaijani Air Forces.

Triebert suggested that the fighter jets are probably controlled by the Turkish Air Force. This also can be said about to the cargo airplane CN-235, which was also found in the satellite image.
