OREANDA-NEWS The joint training of Russian and Lao servicemen took place at the Sergeyevsky training ground in preparation for the main stages of the Laros-2024 exercise, the Russian Defense Ministry reported.

"As part of the joint Russian-Lao military exercise Laros-2024, the first joint training of servicemen of the Eastern Military District and the Lao People's Army took place at the Sergeyevsky combined arms range in Primorsky Krai," the message says.

It is noted that during the training, the military personnel of the two countries studied the routes of the advance of tactical groups, terrain features, and also worked out the organization of communication between units. The Joint Headquarters of the exercise leadership agreed on common control and interaction signals.

The first stage of the exercise will begin on September 25, a joint grouping of troops of the armed forces of Russia and Laos will work out negotiating with conditional terrorists, evacuating civilians and clearing the settlement from illegal armed formations.

The international exercise from the Russian side involves units of the Eastern Military District, including tank crews, unmanned aerial vehicle crews, special forces units, air defense, communications, electronic warfare and RCB protection, as well as part of the assault and army aviation forces of the Russian Aerospace Forces.

Motorized infantry, special forces units, communications support and unmanned aircraft are taking part from the Lao People's Army.
