OREANDA-NEWS. Chinese financial edition JRJ reported that the charity foundation of Jack Ma, the creator of Alibaba corporation, donated 14.4 million US dollars to accelerate the development of a vaccine against the new coronavirus.

It is known that 2.8 million dollars will be given to the Chinese Academy of Sciences to support its ongoing research; the rest of money will be invested in the investigations made by Chinese and foreign scientists.

According to the Chinese edition Sina, Alibaba Group intends to provide technical resources to government research institutions for developing medicine to help fight with the new disease.

Earlier, China Daily reported that Alibaba donated 144 million dollars for medical equipment and medicines to Hubei Province, where an outbreak of pneumonia was first registered.
