OREANDA-NEWS Italian military columnist Gianluca Di Feo, in an article in the newspaper La Repubblica, stated that Russia owns the military initiative in all battle zones with the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). His words are quoted by TASS.

"Russian troops are advancing with enviable constancy along the entire front line in Donbass, isolating pockets of resistance," the Italian journalist said. He also pointed out the large difference in the number of people and noted the superiority of Russia.

The observer noted that many Ukrainian recruits did not even have time to complete basic training, and the Ukrainian military is faced with a shortage of weapons so much that they "use American M101 guns from 1945."

Earlier, Di Feo explained the reasons for the failures of the AFU counteroffensive. According to the journalist, this is happening because the Ukrainian military began offensive operations without proper preparation for a breakthrough and the necessary weapons. In addition, he blamed the failures of the counteroffensive on NATO countries that did not supply the necessary equipment.
