OREANDA-NEWS   Thailand has declared its readiness to switch to settlements with Russia in national currencies. This was announced by the kingdom's ambassador to Moscow, Sasivat Vongsinsavat, in an interview with Izvestia.

According to him, Thailand has no objections to this approach. However, the implementation, according to him, depends on commercial banks.

The transition to settlements in national currencies is also being discussed with other countries in the region. Thus, the Ambassador of the Philippines to the Russian Federation, Igor Biden, stressed that in the absence of secondary sanctions, the republic is not against joining the initiative. He noted that the central banks of the Philippines and Russia are already in contact.

Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke about the BRICS single currency (Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa). According to him, it is too early to talk about this, first it is necessary to achieve greater integration of economies.
