OREANDA-NEWS. On August 13, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) launched a series of strikes against military objects of radical movement Hamas located in the Gaza Strip. An attack was a response to the launching of bundles of balloons with explosives to Israeli territory.

This was reported by the press service of the Israeli Defense Ministry. “Military aircrafts, helicopters and tanks of IDF attacked several targets of the terrorist organization Hamas in the Gaza Strip. […] The attack was carried out in response to the launch of balloons with explosives from the Gaza Strip into Israel during the past week,” press release published on the IDF website reads.

It is noted that the attack targeted the facilities of the Hamas naval forces, the infrastructure of underground tunnels and observation posts of Palestinian radicals. As stated in the press service, the enemy faces “consequences for terrorist acts against Israeli citizens.”
