OREANDA-NEWS. On June 17, the Federal Security Service of Russian federation (FSB) reported that in four regions of the Volga Federal District, the Islamist group of the terrorist organization Tablighi Jamaat banned in the country was exposed.

“The activities… of the extremist organization Tablighi Jamaat was suppressed. In Nizhny Novgorod, Penza, Saratov and Ulyanovsk regions… leaders and active members of this organization were detained,” news agency RIA Novosti quoted the message of the FSB. It is known that in the places of conspiracy gatherings, as well as in the houses of the detainees, bank cards, communication means and prohibited literature were found and confiscated.

Earlier at the same day, Russian Prosecutor General Igor Krasnov informed that over the past year the number of terrorist attacks prevented in the country increased by a third.
