OREANDA-NEWS. The Ukrainian–American military exercise Sea Breeze 2020 began in the Black Sea. It is known that due to the coronavirus pandemic, it is held in a limited format.

“The jubilee, 20th, Ukrainian–American exercises Sea Breeze started in the Black Sea. This year, due to the pandemic, maneuvers will be limited only by the naval phase with the involvement of aviation. All joint activities will take place in the Black Sea without personnel contact,” the official news agency of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, reported on July 20.

About 2 thousand people from 9 countries, including more than 20 ships, as well as airplanes and helicopters, will be involved in the exercise. In addition to Ukraine and the USA, military personnel from Bulgaria, Georgia, Norway, France, Romania, Spain and Turkey will take part in Sea Breeze. It will last seven days.

Oleksiy Neizhpapa, Commander of the Naval Forces of Ukraine, informed that the main goal of the exercise is to maintain stability and security in the Black Sea region.
