OREANDA-NEWS India already has plans to increase its refining capacity to 300 million tons from the current approximately 250 million tons and is studying the issue of further increasing them, Indian Minister of Oil and Natural Gas Shri Hardeep Singh Puri told reporters on the sidelines of the Adipec conference.
"India's refining capacity is growing from the current 252 million tons, we already have plans to increase capacity to 300 million tons. And we are discussing (an increase to) 400 or 450 million tons, because this is also a petrochemical issue," the minister said.
He did not specify which plants are planned to expand their capacities.
