OREANDA-NEWS New Delhi will continue to deepen and expand relations with Moscow, despite international pressure of a private and public nature. This was stated by Indian Defense Minister Rajnath Singh at talks with Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov, RIA Novosti reports.
The Indian Minister noted that the decision of the Government of the country is conscious. "We will always be together with our Russian colleagues," Singh said, appreciating the "remarkable stability" of Russian—Indian relations in the face of countering geopolitical challenges.
Earlier it became known that India and Russia will conclude a military contract for four billion dollars, under which New Delhi will acquire the Russian advanced long-range radar system (radar) of the Voronezh series. The radar is capable of detecting and tracking a number of threats, including ballistic missiles and aircraft, at a distance of up to 8000 kilometers. The new system will provide India with critical early warning of potential threats, expanding surveillance capabilities far beyond the country's borders.
