OREANDA-NEWS. Scientists from the United States received the first results of a preclinical trial of a coronavirus vaccine.

As the press service of the University of Pittsburgh reported, the drug was discovered on the basis of the experience of combating SARS-CoV in 2003 and MERS-CoV in 2014. Now the authors of the study are preparing an application to the US Food and Drug Administration. They want to receive permission to test the drug on volunteers. This will allow you to create vaccine in a few months, and not after 1.5 years.

It is known that upon entry into the body, a potential vaccine produces antibodies specific to SARS-CoV-2. It is supposed that they are enough to neutralize the virus.
