In the United States, the Authorities Refuse to Use Ventilators from Russia
OREANDA-NEWS. The artificial pulmonary ventilators supplied by Russia to the United States were of the same model that appeared in the fires with the deaths in Russian hospitals. They were not used in American clinics, and now state authorities refuse them.
This was reported to Reuters by the spokeswoman for the US Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), Janet Montesi. According to her, state authorities are returning devices to the FEMA “out of an abundance of caution.” However, the Agency indicates that ventilators Aventa-M could be the cause of the death of six people in Russian clinics, where they were treated from coronavirus infection. According to FEMA, the devices that arrived from Russia with a batch of medical devices in early April were sent to the states of New York and New Jersey, after that they were stored in warehouses as backup equipment.
A fire in a hospital in Moscow occurred on the evening of May 9. One patient died. On May 12, a fire broke out in the clinic in Saint Petersburg. It claimed the lives of five people connected to the ventilators.
