In the Russian Region, Doctors Falsified 500 Vaccination Certificates

OREANDA-NEWS. In the Ulyanovsk region, police officers identified two medical workers who faked and sold certificates of vaccination against COVID-19. In total, they issued more than 500 such documents, according to the website of the regional department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.
The price of fake COVID vaccination documents reached three thousand rubles. The police found out that health workers entered data on vaccinations in the state databases, assigned QR codes and vaccination certificate numbers. The doctors disposed of the unused doses of drugs.
During searches in the hospital, ambulatory records of fictitiously vaccinated people and a COVID-19 vaccine register were found and seized. A case was initiated under part 3 of article 159 of the Criminal Code ("Fraud with the use of official position) and part 4 of article 274.1 ("Unlawful influence on the critical information infrastructure of Russia").
Two medical workers and one mediator were questioned as suspects. Now the issue of choosing a preventive measure is being decided, the police added.
Earlier, a criminal case was opened in Moscow due to the illegal issuance of vaccination certificates against COVID-19 by an employee of the city polyclinic. Currently, the department and the leadership of the medical organization are assisting law enforcement agencies in identifying the perpetrators, the facts and reasons for what happened.
