In Serbia, Vaccination against COVID-19 Will Begin on January 5
OREANDA-NEWS. Serbia will begin vaccination of citizens against coronavirus with the Russian drug Sputnik V on Tuesday. This was announced on January 4 by State Secretary of the Ministry of Health, Mirsad Derlek.
“During the current week, 2.4 thousand doses of the Russian vaccine Sputnik V will be used. Most likely, the first part of this vaccine will be introduced tomorrow,” the politician said.
According to Derlek, by the end of the week it is planned to vaccinate about 11 thousand people, first of all medical workers and employees of social security centers. Further, the vaccination will be offered to citizens over 75 years and to persons aged from 64 to 74 years.
Derlek also noted that the interest in vaccination in the country is much higher than expected. Vaccination centers will be open every day except Christmas, January 7.
Today, 20 doses of Sputnik V arrived in Serbia to study the medication for its possible use in the country.
