OREANDA-NEWS  GOST for school uniforms will appear in Russia in the second half of 2024. In these terms, Roskachestvo experts will present the final version of the standard. Izvestia writes about this with reference to the organization.

Thus, manufacturers who want to label their products in this way will have to comply with the requirements of the new GOST. As explained in Roskachestvo, the main purpose of the standard is to prevent the use of low—quality materials in the manufacture of school uniforms. The standard defines the range of clothing that falls into this category, and imposes requirements on the form, its materials, as well as on the labeling of products.

The set of uniforms for schoolchildren includes a blouse, vest, jacket, cardigan, jumper, sweater, shirt, dress, trousers and shorts. It should have a secular character, be comfortable, aesthetic, meet weather conditions, should not contain symbols of antisocial informal youth associations, as well as propagandizing illegal behavior.

In December 2022, the Ministry of Education stated that any decisions about school uniforms in Russia would be made taking into account the opinion of parents. The department noted that in the Soviet years everyone went in uniform, now the attitude of parents to this issue is changing.

In March 2023, Deputy Head of the Ministry of Education Andrey Korneev supported the idea of including badges in the uniforms of Russian schoolchildren. He stressed that schools can already introduce badges as a form element, but after the adoption of amendments to the law on education, all educational institutions will have general recommendations on badges.
