OREANDA-NEWS Russian tankers use drones to adjust fire when firing from closed firing positions (ZOP). This was told by Izvestia.

"Such a technique as working with a PSA requires adjustments from the air. Firing from the ZOP allows tanks to "break the distance" and work from a much greater distance," the newspaper writes.

It is noted that the accuracy of the tank gun provides a good result, and the protection of the tank is more secure than that of classical artillery. Shooting from the ZOP began to be actively used during the special operation, since the West supplied Kiev with more anti-tank weapons. In May, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that a motorized rifle unit of the combined arms army of the Central Military District received a batch of 23 T-90M "Breakthrough" tanks.

In March, the Polish edition of Defense 24 wrote that the Russian Armed Forces began to use BMP-3 infantry fighting vehicles more often as assault weapons for firing from closed firing positions.
