OREANDA-NEWS  The government plans to create a register of Russians in need of social assistance by the end of 2024. This was stated by Acting Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin, his words are quoted by RIA Novosti.

The candidate for the post of head of government clarified that the Cabinet of Ministers plans to complete work on the formation of such a list of citizens by the end of December. "We are planning until the end of the year," Mishustin explained.

As the main benefit of the new registry, he called the opportunity to simplify the assignment of social benefits to citizens. Mishustin stated this during a speech at the plenary session of the State Duma.

At the beginning of 2023, the Pension Fund (PFR) and the Social Insurance Fund (FSS) were merged in Russia. The authorities explained this measure by the need to improve the quality of public services, including the rapid registration and provision of social support measures. After the merger of the two organizations, Russians were able to receive all federal benefits in a single window.
