OREANDA-NEWS  By the decision of Russian President Vladimir Putin, Russia planned to create a Maritime Board, Presidential aide Nikolai Patrushev said at a meeting on the development of the shipbuilding industry in Rybinsk, RIA Novosti reports.

According to him, this is necessary to enhance the coordination of the activities of state authorities in the implementation of national maritime policy, as well as to ensure the protection of the national interests of the Russian Federation in the oceans.

At the moment, the development of the regulations and the formation of the board is organized. Once this work is done, the head of state will need to approve them by decree.

Earlier, Vladimir Putin said that Russia would continue to increase the provision of modern weapons to the forces of the Navy.
