OREANDA-NEWS The partial lifting of the ban on fuel exports is due to the danger of overstocking of storage systems and, as a result, a decrease in processing volumes. This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak at a meeting with Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, the Telegram channel of the Russian government reports.
According to him, the temporary ban on the export of petroleum products introduced on September 21 showed its effectiveness and largely removed problems in the domestic market. In particular, prices on the St. Petersburg International Commodity Exchange (SPbMTSB) have sharply decreased and fuel shortages in the regions have begun to recede.
Separately, the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS), in the course of inspections of the activities of oil companies and independent gas station networks, revealed facts of overstating retail prices.
Novak pointed out that the new measures approved on October 6 make it possible to maintain control over the situation even when resuming the export of diesel fuel, which was allowed only for large oil refineries (refineries). For this purpose, the full amount of compensation was returned to oil companies within the framework of the damping mechanism, and a protective duty of 50 thousand rubles per ton was introduced for the sale of petroleum products abroad for resellers.
