OREANDA-NEWS By the end of 2024, the personnel problem has become the main one for the construction industry. This was stated by Sergey Muzychenko, Deputy Minister of Construction and Housing and Communal Services of the Russian Federation, RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.
Currently, he noted, the personnel agenda remains a priority for the construction industry. The sector lacks qualified workers. "Personnel has become the main problem for the development of the construction industry," Muzychenko summed up during a speech at the Siberian Construction Week forum.
He recalled that since 2024, the agency has been able to develop standard educational programs for the training of qualified personnel. Work in this direction should "get on track" this spring. "Personnel training is a key task for us," Muzychenko concluded.
Earlier, Andrey Kladov, director of the Migrant Service platform, predicted a shortage of personnel in the construction industry at the level of 16-17 percent of the total number of personnel. According to him, employers in this segment may face hiring almost all in-demand specialists in the medium term, including window fitters, monoliths and plasterers. The head of the Ministry of Construction, Irek Fayzullin, estimated the shortage of workers in the industry at one million people.
