OREANDA-NEWS The St. Petersburg City Court has sentenced Viktor Rudenko, a citizen of Ukraine, finding him guilty under the espionage article. About this said Daria Lebedeva, a representative of the united press service of the city courts.

According to the court, the convict is a supporter of the current leadership of Ukraine and has a negative attitude towards the special military operation conducted by Russia. In March 2022, he collected and transmitted other information that could be used against the security of the Russian Federation in the interests of the Security Service of Ukraine.

It is noted that this information did not contain a state secret, however, after its transfer, the division of the motorized rifle division was subjected to mortar attacks in the locality, information about which was transmitted by Rudenko.

In the courtroom, the Ukrainian pleaded not guilty and explained that he acted in the interests of his homeland. He was sentenced to ten years in a high-security penal colony and confiscation of the means of crime.
