OREANDA-NEWS  Trout production volumes in the Krasnodar Territory increased 2.5 times a year, by the end of 2022, more than 1.2 thousand tons were produced in the region. This was reported to TASS by the Vice-governor of the Krasnodar Territory Andrey Korobka.

"The total trout production in the region amounted to more than 1.2 thousand tons, which is actually 2.5 times more than the level of 2021," Korobka said.

By the end of 2022, he noted the implementation by one of the enterprises of a large project on trout cultivation in marine fish hatcheries on the fish-breeding plots provided for use in the Black Sea, their total area is 2.8 thousand hectares, by the end of the year more than 650 tons of trout were grown with a weight of over 2 kg.

Earlier it was reported that the company started the implementation of the investment project in 2021, it was planned that this would allow the region to establish import substitution of 15-20% of trout within four years. The mariculture industry is one of the new directions for the Krasnodar Territory.
